  • 1.  Transitioning from a family daycare to a center

    Good morning everyone,
      I am working on transitioning from a family daycare home of 12 to a family home center of 20. Does anyone have an input on the process or have you done this yourself ? Looking for any help I can get. Ideas, what worked and didn't? Fire Marshal help. Thanks so much.

    I am going from home daycare to a center. I have bought a commercial building and will be moving there after renovations. I am also looking for advice and also a consultant if anyone knows.

    There should be a consultant assigned to your area. Contact LARA for your state.
    When designing your center, consider the ages that you want to have rooms for,
    0-18
    19-36
    36-48
    48-65
    If you have space for 4 rooms
    And consider before school care, after school care and summer care  age 66- 12 years old.

    Hi I am doing the same thing In Oakland County Michigan. I thought I found a building but it turns out that I have to raise a sprinkler system in the building. I'm not sure if I want to do that for someone else's building.  I plan on renting.  what do you all think. if I get the building I'm hoping to hold 60 to 70 kids.
