    Hi All

Happy New Year! We just had a three year old test positive for Mononucleosis. Our State health dept has no guidance on mono, so I called our local pediatricians and they never got back to me. Has anyone else ever dealt with mono? What did you give as guidance to the other families? I notified the families in what I thought was a gently worded message and a new family who was supposed to start tomorrow decided to bail.

Where is the balance between notifying parents (which I have committed to do) and scaring  people away? I asked this particular parent to check with her pediatrician before making this decision, but the parent is concerned about her own health…although the risk is low to her.

    Thanks….

I had a n infant start on the same day that another parent told me that their child had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease.  The baby stayed home the rest of that week but, unfortunately got it anyway so was out for another 2 weeks.  I felt so bad that I told the family that the first month of tuition was on us.  The family really appreciated the gesture.
