Look up the research of Dr. Farran and colleagues at Vanderbilt University. They have completed research that is over a long time period - the impact of prek that is directed at children from low income families in Tennessee who qualified for their Universal Preschool programs. her research is in depth and have developed recommendations for prek and kindergarten curriculum and environments based on the results.
Here is one interview that Dr. Farran had on NPR: https://www.npr.org/2022/02/10/1079406041/researcher-says-rethink-prek-preschool-prekindergarten
Here is the study that goes through 3rd grade:
Quarterly Effects of the Tennessee Prekindergarten Program on children's achievement and behavior through third grade - Mark W. Lipsey∗, Dale C. Farran, Kelley Durkin -Vanderbilt University, United States
Here is the source of the research that followed this group of children through 6th grade:
Effects of a statewide pre-kindergarten program on children's achievement and behavior through sixth grade -Kelley Durkin, Mark Lipsey, Dale Farran, Sarah Wiesen
These are very important studies. Dr. Farran actually presented her findings at the last NAEYC Annual Conference.

Hello colleagues,
Do you know if anyone is aware of any studies or data conducted to gauge the impact of preschool on K, 1st, and 2nd grades?
Thank you!
