    Good evening everyone,

I hope all is well. My name is Pasha and I been in the education field for over 11 years. I am currently coming close to my year mark as a director/owner of my licensed home academy for preschoolers and school age. I am trying to find ways to create more reels, post, etc on social media platforms such as IG and FB and Tik Tok. Can someone please give me topic of discussion ideas and trending topics to talk about so I can generate more content on my business social media platforms?

Thank you so much in advance for your assistance and wealth of knowledge of topics to discuss. I am hoping that this helps with my followers or views being more engaged on my social media.

    Sincerely,

    Pasha

Pasha, I find assessments to be a rich topic for discussion, as well as family and parent engagement ideas and discussions. Classrooms are an abundant source for content by showcasing children's work, comments, activities and ideas (proper parent authorization/consent required based on content). I have children's art exhibits, fully curated by the children, several times a year. Nobody can resist feeling happy about their children's work being displayed. One of my favorite social sites is a teacher that posts the funny things kids said that day. Look around your classroom with a a fresh perspective and mine for content all around and through your authentic interactions with children.

Thank you very much for your response. You spoke on some amazing topics! Yes, a lot of it aren't consent situations for social media seems to be my roadblock. However, I'll figure out how to still showcase what the kiddos are doing & what I'm doing too.

    Thank you,
    Pasha Patton

I have been researching the quality and care of young children, especially with disabilities.

In researching, Kids Count Data has SC , Louisiana , New Mexico and Mississippi as the lowest for caring for children and families in the US.

The best is Utah,New Hampshire and Vermont.  I wonder if we could get someone from each state to help us figure out how this of us at the bottom can do better?

Hi Pasha,  A topic I think constantly needs revisiting is the essential role of "play" in early childhood learning.  Many parents, and educators for that matter, are misinformed and need to understand the underlying learning that takes place during play.  Be sure to include the role of the teacher/facilitator.  Also, mention how much you can learn from simple observation and not constantly intervening when children are problem solving.  Good Luck, Gina James

    Screen to Dirt

Use the warm months to show how outdoor experiences (planting; bug observations; water/sand play; etc.) allow children to commune with nature and increase their sensory, physical, cognitive and speech/language skills without resorting to screen time. This encourages families to really open their eyes to the gifts of nature and develop outdoor time with their child. Post pics of your 'explorations' and provide strong language terms (English, Spanish, ASL) to enhance learning for all. The pics will also help families reflect on their child's day so their child can make stronger home/program connections.
