    We have posted the video of our November Early Childhood Science Interest Forum and Young Children and Nature Interest Forum collaboration.  If you didn't have a chance to watch it live, we encourage you to check it out.  Shelia Williams Ridge and Anna Dutke provided an evening of informative, and provocative conversation about taking your students outdoors.  Remember, "there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!

    Hello, Early Math-ers.

    We enjoyed talking math and sharing ideas with those who made it to the NAEYC E.M.I.F. gathering this evening. Below is a list of the resources that were mentioned.

    We hope to schedule some webinars in the first half of 2021. We heard that people would be interested in exploring more ideas for virtual math and more ways to support families in doing math together.

    For spatial thinking, I love Julie Dillemuth's books: Lucy in the city ( ) and Mapping my Day ( )

    Teachers are using Jamboard as a way to build number sense. For example, a slide has a rope (clothesline) and multiple T-shirts shapes. Then there are post it notes that say "Show me 2", "Show me 5" etc. Each child has a slide to work on and have to put the t-shirts on the clothesline. This is a way that teachers are differentiating.
