In my undergraduate course on Technology in Early Education this fall, we used resources curated and created by the NAEYC Technology & Young Children Interest Forum as the basis for an assignment in one of the learning modules. Students were not familiar with these resources and had little prior exposure to ways in which practitioners use technology in classrooms and in partnership with families. The resources such as Wakelet, webinars and NAEYC HELLO discussions provided a variety of ways for students to access information. At the end of the module, students reflected and shared their work using free resources. Bonnie Blagojevic from the NAEYC Tech & YC Interest Forum joined in for the final virtual presentations and discussion.
I invite you to review and try out aspects of the lesson which can be adapted for many types of professional development (required and/or optional) and educational experiences. I would be interested to hear from you if you use and adapt the assignment. Please contact me directly with any and all feedback.
Thank You,
