Hello:
Agreed.
Here in Memphis, TN, I was able to use a fire retardant spray to treat fabrics with documentation. For this reason, I only used valances, not full curtains. It also sufficed for hanging items from the ceiling or mobiles with fishing lines. I was told since the fishing line burns quickly and drops, it is not a hazard to use. I sprayed all hanging things within the limitations.

Subject: Flame Retardant Curtains Recommendations?
Hello!
My preschool is looking to purchase some curtains for our classrooms. I checked with our local fire department and they advised that the curtains should meet the requirements of the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) or Underwriters Laboratories (UL). Has anyone purchased any curtains for classrooms, and can you recommend a brand that sells curtains with a label that will indicate they meet the requirements for being flame retardant?
Thanks!
