This is going to be a hard phase for early childhood practitioners who love filling their classrooms with natural materials, textured toys, and soft play items. We have seen some softer plastics available and you might want to look at food grade silicone toys. They are safe for children under 3. Whirly Squigz are one of my favorites. There are many other silicone toys that can be easily sanitized, as well. Also look for things like sensory shapes and balls that are made from softer plastics.

Subject: What are your favorite plastic toys?
Only using toys that can be sanitized with spray or in the dishwasher so have packed away everything wooden and plush. Now looking to add several replacement toys (plastic only). What are your children's favorite plastic toys/toy sets? Open ended play preferred but will consider anything you suggest! Classroom average age: 2 years old.
