These are crazy times and stuck working from home is not a good fit for me. It is easy to loose perspective and hope. Recently, I had a family staying with me because they had no heat. When we were discussing sleeping arrangements the three year old asked, "Where does Trey sleep?" This was a funny question, yet so beautiful and pure. Trey is a good family friend. He is often at my home and family events. Trey is 6'4" and African American. I am 5' nothing and Italian. When I explained that Trey had his own home, "Oh", said the three year old, "I thought Trey was your brother." He was completely blind to the differences in our race and appearance. He judged our relationship by the respect and love he observed in our family. This warmed my heart and gave me some hope that perhaps the next generation or the one after that, will be wiser in their race relations; or perhaps their won't even be such a thing as race relations!
