    Posted 04-20-2023 11:36 AM

    Hello Everyone,

Our Early Learning Program is scheduled for re-accreditation October of 2023. The staff is overwhelmed due to the loss of two directors within the last five years.  Also, the wait for a new hire to fill the vacant director's position.

We remember the process back five years ago but we also have several new staff. Feeling unsettled!

Consequently, we need guidance for the next step.
Because, we take pride in our present accreditation.
    Sincerely,
    Brenda Thompson

I mean have you begun collecting evidence and be artifacts, done self-study, surveys, etc?  Do you have a steering committee or are you doing it yourself?  Is your visit scheduled?

    Hello Brenda,
Congratulations on pursuing reaccreditation. After you submit your 4th annual report, you will receive an email to supply information about your program to the assessor. Then are you given a 6 month window in which they will come. Have you submitted your 4th annual report? And does your dashboard say you were assigned to an assesor? If not, then you should try to work on our portfolios to get them completed asap.
Reach out to NAEYC if you have questions about this.

    Deanna

After we submitted our 4th annual report that was due in April, I think we receive an email a few days later about our site visit window. I think the visit window was from July to January 2023. We asked for the window to be extended, because of the many changes at our site to give us more time to prepare for the visit.

My big take-away from this is start when you submit the 3rd annual report make sure all your evidence is current and in order.

Great Feedback Deanna  it also helpful for me as well.

    Hi Brenda,

That does sound like a lot to balance. Do you have an Accreditation Facilitation Project (AFP) near you that you can reach out to for assistance?

    Best of luck!

    Hi Sarah,
I don't know if we have an (AFP)  near us but I will confer with other staff about it and get back to you.
