    Dear NAEYC members, t
    he 2023 lunar new year begins on January 22, 2023 and the NAEYC Asian Interest Forum planning committee is putting together a video to celebrate the 2023 lunar new year. We ask for you to send a 10-15 second video clip with lunar new year greetings to the ECE field around the globe and your NAEYC fellow members. In case you need a refresher on the history of lunar new year and how it is celebrated across the different communities, we have a couple resources for you.

    To share our love and unity in the community, we want to reach out to all the different communities that celebrate the lunar new year! If you are interested in celebrating the lunar new year with us and your fellow members, please send the video clip to aifnaeyc@gmail.com. In the video clip, please state your name, your city, state, affiliation(optional), your greetings, and anything else you want to share.

    We hope to receive the video clips from you no later than January 8, 2023, so we have some time to put them together. The debut of the video will be on the first day of lunar new year through the NAEYC Hello platform and other social media venues.
    We look forward to receiving your videos and thank you for your time in advance. 🌟.

    Dear fellow members, 

    Just a friendly reminder to send in your 10-15 second festive videos by tomorrow to aifnaeyc@gmail.com to help celebrate the Lunar New Year. We've gotten some fun ones so far and would love to add more. When the clips are compiled, we'll share the joy with the broader ECE community around the globe through your greetings.

    Here are some fun facts about the Lunar New year, hope these help with your video creation!

    • 🗓 It falls on a different day each year.
    • 🥳 It is also known as 'Spring Festival'.
    • 🐇 In China, each year is linked with a different zodiac animal- 2023 is the Year of Rabbit!
    • 🎉 The celebrations last for 15 days.
    • 🧧 Children receive red envelopes with money inside.
    • 🦁 Lion dances are very popular around this time.
    • 🎆 Fireworks will be set off at midnight! *
