The Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) has the ELDS on their meeting agenda for TOMORROW Tuesday, December 13th, and we need your help to advocate for final adoption of the revised standards at this key meeting. Click here to email BESE. Click here to RSVP for the December 13th BESE meeting. In order to make sure BESE votes for final adoption of the revised ELDS, we urge you to attend the December 13th BESE meeting at 9:00 AM and make a public comment in support of the revised ELDS. The Louisiana Policy Institute for Children has provided talking points below to help guide your public comment. Although BESE previously approved these revisions to the ELDS on August 23rd by an overwhelming majority vote, the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is now recommending BESE open an additional online public portal to collect more public comments. There have been multiple opportunities for the public to weigh in on the ELDS throughout the review process. Now is the time for BESE members to proceed with final adoption of the revised standards published as a Notice of Intent in the October 20, 2022, Louisiana Register. If you aren't able to attend the meeting, please reach out to to express support via email or phone by Tomorrow, December 13th. We are incredibly grateful for your partnership and for all you do for young children in Louisiana! |
