    Are childcare centers allowing staff to carry their own cells phones into their classrooms?  The reason I am asking is because due to the tragic event in Uvalde,  schools are implementing a new app device that alerts codes on their phones for their awareness, safety, and immediate assistance. 

    I would like to hear your thoughts.

    I have never worked at a program that did not allow teachers to have their cell phones in the classroom. Sometimes they must be kept in the closet, but I currently work at a small center and we use our own cellphones for brightwheel. It's much more convenient than having to carry a tablet around. 

    I think it shows a real lack of respect for staff to tell them they cannot have their phones on their person.
