  • 1.  CDA in infant/toddler

I recieved my CDA in infant/toddler for the company I'm currently working for through the college courses and Naeyc rep. I live in PA. I was wondering if anyone has taken the national CDA requirements through their daycare employer and since the certificate is good for 3yr and its been 2yrs, if since your company pays for the courses etc that if you leave the company within in the 3yr time before it expires do you have to pay the company back for all the course work, etc or if its just the company I worlk for. I don't remember signing anything stating this but just curious. Any feedback will be helpful. Andif anyone has renewed their CDA already in infant/toddler, do you know what the requirements are and fees? And if its easier than going through the first 3yr requirements, not that one was hard .

I have not renewed my CDA yet but it is coming as well.  So I would love to know the steps.  But what I have researched and found is the following. But if you research CDA requirements it will give you a list.  It has been a while since I have looked at it.

1 you need your director or a certified CDA specialist or Chid educator to write a letter of recommendation to go with your renewal
2 you need to renew online
3 you need a certain amount of training hours
4 you need to pay a free.  I am thinking it said around $150.00 or something like that.

if you need training hours you can take a course to cover those hours but I believe those training hours are the ones you are required to take every year anyway.  Like conferences, PDIS and such.

If I am incorrect please correct me.

As of paying your company back, that is up to your agreement and your company.  My company paid for mine and I have an agreement with them to stay at least 3 years with the company.

    Hope that helps.
