We planned an activity in the classroom, which was also reflected on the lesson plan where We asked parents to bring in family pictures of them enjoying local areas in the city we live. We also asked pictures of local community area's and made words cards to identify them. The words cards and pictures were displayed in the classroom, and reflected on the lesson plan.
Lesson planWe provided a copy of the lesson plan and highlighted the activities & placed a sticky note on the lesson plan explaining the section.
Map: showing where the local areas are
Look & discuss the picture that children bring in
Vocab words: - Mission trails/ - Mission Beach/ - San Diego Zoo/ - Sea world/ - Holiday in Hotel
Family partnership: Parents please bring in Family pictures of local areas or from a family stay/ vacation
We placed a post it on the lesson plane explaining the following:During this week we asked parents to bring in family pictures of them enjoying local areas in the city we live. We also asked pictures of local community area's and made words cards to identify them. The words cards and pictures were displayed in the classroom, and reflected on the lesson plan.
Hope this helps.

Hey everyone! We're working through the accreditation process, and am curious how other programs have shown evidence of 2D.6 - "Show or describe how your curriculum related to language acquisition considers community perspectives."
Any and all ideas will be welcome, I'm certain that I'm overthinking this way too much!
Thanks!
