Hello Mary, I would use NAEYC as your resource for guidelines, though I think you might be struggling a bit more with how to write a succinct essay. Be sure to start with an introduction, which I believe should include WHY guidelines are important (i.e., developmentally appropriate, parent/teacher resource, safety, etc.) and where to find them. In the body of your essay you can expound on each item, though I would not include an actual list of guidelines. You might want to give a few examples. Last, be sure to include a conclusion, which basically reiterates what is said in the introduction. Hope this helps- Gina James
