    Hi,
I am looking for suggestions for virtual tours of museums for my Pre-K students. Our C4L Unit is Exploring Museums.

    Thank you.

    Hi Nancy:

The link above is for a resource created in part by PBS in Florida.  It provides virtual field trips along with accompanying resource materials that address learning standards.  I do not recall if there is something specific to museums..... but perhaps it does!

This is from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston--a page of tours and discussion videos.  I wonder if the children would be interested in any of the restoration videos, as well as others.

    And the Eric Carle Museum

    Sounds like a fun study!

    Hello Nancy,
I wrote a response but think it got erased.  My suggestions are: Museum of Fine Arts Boston, MA, African American Museum D.C., Native American Museum also in D.C., Guggenheim in NY,  Museum of Modern Art NY,  Harvard University has several museums.

The Boston Museum of Art has a preschool program.

Other than the Fine Arts Museum, I do not know if the other museums are doing virtual tours.

After our tour of Fine Arts our mixed age group worked in painting "shaped canvas".  We prepared art paper in large circles, triangles, and plank forms.
    Good viewing!

Have you checked out the Children's Museum of Houston
They have many virtual options to explore while their museum is temporarily closed due to the pandemic.

During "normal times" I am a docent at the Mazza Museum (in Findlay, Ohio) which houses the largest collection of original artwork from picture books. Please check out the virtual part of their site for tours, story times and more.   mazzamuseum.org/virtual

I am the President of the Fort Bend History Association and the Fort Bend County Museum in Richmond, Texas.  We too have virtual tours and educational materials for elementary schools ages K-5th grade.  It's a great resource for learning about Texas history.  You can go to fbhistory.org to get more information.

    Hi Nancy,

The Boston Children's Museum has a virtual tour: https://bostonchildrensmuseum.org/museum-virtual-tour and the children may enjoy building their own museum too! https://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/build-your-own-museum
