  • 1.  Conference Handouts and Power Points?

A happy Thanksgiving, with a continuing appetite for Conference handouts and Power Points:  I've been looking through NAEYC's schedule planner/upload finder, and have been unable to find any handouts or Power Points, at least from the sessions of interest to me.  Is there some tech fix needed, or are my favorite presenters just slow in uploading?  If the latter, you're forgiven, but I hope to see them soon.  These papers have been of lasting value in the past.

I wonder how many presenters are going to use the itinerary planner to post their handouts/PowerPoints.  Many of the presenters I went to were telling us to use other methods like direct email.  I've looked for sessions I was curious about seeing handouts, and you are right, not many are there.

I like handouts with the powerpoints because it helps me with keeping up on the topic we are discussing

This happens year after year. After each conference I go in and select all the sessions I could not attend, but wanted to, and those I did, and then painstakingly open each one looking for slides and handouts. Precious few ever actually upload. I should have learned by now not to bother. Yes, I can email a person whose session I attended, but for all the wonderful sessions I couldn't attend, I don't have contact info for those presenters. NAEYC need to look for another option. Maybe just tell us to look up the presenter by name, and then provide an email. Or include emails and websites in the summary for each session on the app. It won't be nearly as easy as being able to download them from the app, but at least we'd get them eventually.

Same! Several presenters said their PowerPoint would be available through NAEYC after the conference, so I did not take as detailed notes as I would have liked. I have not been able to find any of them on the site or through the app. Moving forward, I wonder if the presenters had to submit them to NAEYC prior to conferences and NAEYC could make them available on their site immediately after conference? It would be nice to get to share with coworkers while all the information is still fresh in our minds. Or perhaps some sort of badge scanning system to get them emailed directly? Just brainstorming (I'm not too tech savvy):-)

    I agree.

I cant get all presentations.  I think NAEYC should allow to have those presentations available on the application RIGHT AFTER THE CONFERENCE.

    Greetings all,

Presenters are uploading their presentations this week. The link to upload was shared right before the holidays. I would wait until next Monday, December 9 to follow-up. If there are particular sessions you have questions about please feel free to reach out to me via email.

    Best,
