And how did this work out? I do not think it is the role of peers to evaluate the work/effectiveness of their co-workers. I think it would make a mess of the trust and willingness to share. The climate in the school between employees and administration would deteriorate. Administrators are responsible for this and should not push it off to classroom teachers. I can see a classroom teacher help in evaluating their assistant teachers who report to them.
There are other ways to get at helping teachers think through their work. How about regular collaborative sessions where teachers share their work with children, discussing what they are doing and why and receive feedback and suggestions. Here, if the environment is non-judgemental, teachers can focus on the work of their peers and offer assistance as needed or add to the ideas a teacher may have about the progress of individual children, the group, and the curriculum.

Does anyone have a peer evaluation form that you find beneficial to your teachers and that you would be willing to share?
