    Hi Jason,

Thanks for bringing this up Jason. It's such an important thing for early childhood educators to address.  It's such a big question I had trouble figuring out where to start.    I know we could easily write more than one book to address it.  I'm wondering what brought this question up and if you can be more specific about what you're thinking about or wanting to discuss.  As I start to think about it, I think about the ways teachers identify black children as older than they really are, which makes us discipline them more harshly.  I also think about young children's developmental vulnerability to stereotypes and how this vulnerability makes it so very important that we help children understand and reject the stereotypes they are exposed to on a daily basis.  I'd love to continue this discussion with you and hope others will join in.
