We have a four and a half year old boy who will not use the bathroom
at school to eliminate, only urinate and at home will never use the toilet
to eliminate unless he is completely naked. Even if only wearing underwear
at home he will still find a quiet space and go in his underwear. I told
the mom I would reach out to this group for advice before she seeks
professional help. At school we talk to him about using the toilet and
have read various books to him about children learning to use the toilet
and he loves the books but shows absolutely no interest in using the
toilet. Open to suggestions and insights.
