I had the same question, and called my contact at NAEYC. She told me that since many new criteria have been added to the Teacher standard, it is possible to pass the standard even if you don't pass the criteria for teacher education. Does that make sense?
There are a lot more standards that involve your training plan. The idea seems to be that if you hire the right people, with the right attitude, and provide them with the training and support they need, you should be okay. Better to do that than hire the right person on paper, who won't help you pass all the other criteria.

Could someone please share what the Accreditation Eligibility Requirements are? I was told that your program must have 100% of staff who meet the education requirements now. Is this an eligibility requirement to even start the process or renew your accreditation?
