Julie,
I am an administrator of a program that has two PFA classes and we had our compliance visit in January. ISBE is using the ECERS-3 (released a few years ago) to evaluate classroom environments and teaching practices. There are several changes to the ECERS-3 with more focus on staff and child interactions than the previous edition. ISBE's website also has a compliance checklist for preparing for a monitoring visit at
https://www.isbe.net/Pages/Preschool-For-All.aspx; click on Accountability: Monitoring and Continuous Quality Improvement. StarNet offers free trainings for ECERS-3; their website is
http://www.starnet.org/. They are a good resource for information and questions, as well.
Good luck!

I am a Pre-K teacher in an Illinois PFA classroom and I am using this "shelter in place" time to self-assess my learning environment. Do any fellow early childhood professionals know if there will be an updated version of the ECERS-R released soon? I am working with an "All About the ECERS-R" 2003 copy, as well as online resources.
