    This is so sad.   The benefits of having pets in the classroom are many and children exposed to pet dander in small amounts can build up resistance to allergies.  I am sorry this is one of the realities of CV-19 and wish you the best!

    Hello- we have a rabbit - Luna Blue. She has been with us for almost 2 years, she is located in the lobby. the children love her and say hello and good bye each day to her, it really helps with some transitions for the children as well. We have the families sign up to take her home for the weekend and then share how their time was with Luna. It's been great to have Luna with us.

    Our center has had a dwarf bunny in the classroom for close to 16 years. She recently passed away and we got a mini lop. We have found that animals are a wonderful addition to the classroom. They help to teach so many lessons to the children in our care and have truly enriched the lives of so many children over the past 16 years. We have also had snakes, hamsters, fish, hermit crabs, and even rats.

    Health & Safety: Our first  concern but there's  something wrong  when we avoid  the situation. That classroom  is closed  due to  COVID 19 now who take responsibility  for cleaning & feeding  Guinea  pig.
    Why not  NAEYC take strong steps NO animal  inside the Toddler's Classroom, It should be outside the classroom.I love pet but children's  safety is our first concern.

    * Children  touch  the animal.
    *Please do something
