I am a program coordinator in rural southwestern Minnesota also wanting to connect to other rural programs. This weekend I am facilitating a Rural Perspectives round table discussion at our state naeyc conference. Some of our topics for discussion will include the staffing crisis and how we are impacted by finding educated quality staff, setting boundaries in a small town program, and the challenges of attending in person trainings. Economically our area is doing well in supporting early childhood programming for all children to bridge the opportunity gap, but without staff to work in programming we struggle.
