    Dear Colleagues,

For a lot of reasons, 2020 has been a challenge. We know we can't go back to "normal" because "normal" for a lot of children and early educators is inequitable. The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University's Hannah Barber challenges us to rethink how we improve child and family outcomes. Read the article here.

    What are your thoughts?

Tonya, thank you for sharing! I'm inspired by this article. I've been hoping that our field does not lose an opportunity to innovate in the context of Covid. Other fields are already doing it! Of course our innovation requires additional and/or different funding streams. Does anyone have a recommendation for getting involved? I imagine there are folks working on this...

Why, or why, do well-paid researchers and writers sitting in their ivory towers not get it! The central reason outcomes have not improved over the last 50 years is because we do not pay people who work with young children an adequate salary with appropriate benefits! We are NOT a profession until we pay like one – and provide free, ongoing training to all of our staff. Its shameful that these academics don't get this!
