COVID-related restrictions for early childhood programs have made it difficult to keep families engaged with our programs in the usual ways.  In my program, where families currently are NOT allowed to enter the building, we've gotten creative in how we are keeping our families engaged with what their children are doing in school.  We've got detailed newsletters FULL of photos, parents reading books via Zoom, and even an over-the-fence and safely-masked, outdoor musical performance from a grandparent.

It would be great to hear how other early childhood programs are creatively keeping families engaged during these unprecedented times.  By sharing these ideas with each other we can all continue to create strong partnerships with the young children and families we work with.

Thanks all for sharing your creative ideas!

we also email newsletters to families each month.  The teachers have folders for each child and send homework home at least once a week that ties in with the lesson for the week,  Our school has a private Facebook page(current famiiies only) and we send pictures or reminders that we may need to get out.
