  • 1.  TS GOLD for Home Visiting Program

    Hello!

I'm a new home visitor in an EHS program. We are moving from ELAP assessments to TS GOLD. I'm curious to know a bit more about TS GOLD pros and cons in a home visiting program. We have our own curricula separate from TS GOLD.

I have worked with TS GOLD. I've used it as a Head Start teacher. However I haven't seen it in a home visiting program. I want to see what are people's take on it's effectiveness in a home visiting program.

Our HS and EHS home visitors use TS Gold and have for years. I think it is effective at assessing children and the staff are able to have detailed documentation to back up their finalized checkpoints. However, with all of our visits currently being done virtually the staff are having a difficult time being able to document for all objectives, especially in social-emotional and physical development. Because of this, not all children are accounted for in reports, our reports are very skewed, and they are not showing accurate data. The reports have been pretty useless for us as far as looking at it agency-wide or even by teacher caseload. The individual child reports are the only option for accurate data right now.

    hi Victoria,
I am a preschool teacher and a EHS home visitor. TS GOLD will work just as well in the home based setting as in a classroom. You can find many activities to do to get the results for your assessment. Just familiarize yourself with the lower age brackets for the objectives and you will do fine.
