The following three Interest Forums are looking for facilitators:

    1. Latino
    2.
    Kindergarten
    3.
    Infant and Toddlers Professionals

In order to remain active, dynamic and responsive to the needs of the members, it is required that all NAEYC Interest Forums have at least two facilitators (maximum 6).

If you are interested in becoming a facilitator please contact Lark Sontag at LSontag@NAEYC.org by Monday, April 22nd, in the subject area put the forum you are interested in facilitating.

    Hi Lark,
I've read a little of your history with HELLO and interest forums, so I thought I'd ask you, "How do I join an interest forum?" and "What is the purpose of interest forums?".  I enjoy reading and responding to topics brought up on HELLO, but I'm not sure that's enough to warrant renewing my membership.  I would like to become more involved before I go!

    Greetings Pam,

Thank you for your questions about the Interest Forums.

How you join an Interest Forum is covered in THIS Friday tip.

Interest Forums are NAEYC members who come together around an area of interest. They contribute to NAEYC content, facilitate discussions on Hello and in online book clubs, present at conference and engage in other activities. Here is a list of our current interest forums. (LINK)

To give a bit more information on what Interest Forums are I am going to pull from our website:

NAEYC's Interest Forums and Online Communities encourage the exchange of diverse opinions and further discussion, dialogue, and reflection about specific topics relevant to NAEYC's mission and goals.

The forums and communities provide NAEYC members a way to expand their knowledge and share their specific passion within early childhood education with other NAEYC members. Forums focus on a range of topics-from health and safety to professional development systems to men in education. They host face-to-face meetings at conferences, such as NAEYC's Annual Conference and National Institute for Early Childhood Development. Forum members stay connected throughout the year through Hello, our online community, to continue the dialogue, share best practices, and champion the passionate early childhood interests of forum members.

Here is a video that describes our individual forums from our 2018 Celebration of Diversity and Equity:

Please feel free to reach out to me at hello@NAEYC.org (or here on Hello) if you have any additional questions.

    Most sincerely,
