Any lessons learned or suggestions on the new online Annual Report for Accreditation of Early Childhood Programs? I've attempted to add /update my profile and nothing is saving. What experiences have helped you to ensure data entered is saved/edited? Thanks so much.

It's the type of PDF NAEYC uses that doesn't allow you to save it. You cannot even save when the document is completed, which I find troublesome because it requires keeping paper copies instead of electronic copies. Plus I had to print paper versions and then scan them and send them to get feedback. A lot of time and paper was wasted to complete it. Besides it would be nice to be able to save time by cutting and pasting information that is the same from year to year.

What I ended up doing was keeping my computer on and the document open for the several weeks it took to complete it. I also printed out a copy every night in case the computer crashed. What a waste!

    Hi Deborah,
Are you referring to the annual report?  The good news is that moving forward, all reports will be submitted online through the Accreditation Portal.  You can learn more here: https://www.naeyc.org/accreditation/early-learning/login

    Hi,
Does the annual report have to be submitted online?  Is there any other option?  I also have a question about the staff profiles; I am trying to update the profiles, but am wondering what sort of documentation needs to be uploaded.  I can't save any of the new profiles I've created because I haven't uploaded the documentation. Also, my teachers are required to be here for 4 or 5 hours each day, depending on their class assignment.  We consider this to be "full time."  Would NAEYC also consider this to be "full time?"  Please advise.  I am struggling with this online report; I found it much easier to complete last year.
    Thank you,
    Jennifer Picquet

    Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting NAEYC Accreditation of Early Learning Programs. We apologize for the frustration you are feeling with transitioning to an online platform. We will be hosting live webcasts for programs to receiving more information about accessing the portal in addition to the resources available on our website at https://www.naeyc.org/accreditation/early-learning/login.
For listing teachers in the staff profiles, NAEYC defines teachers as "adult with primary responsibility for a class of children. Each class must have at least one designated teacher. The teacher must spend the vast majority of time with one class of children who attend at the same time rather than divide their time between classrooms or float between classes." The staff profiles will then be assessed for the NAEYC accreditation assessment items 6C.1 - 6C.4 for Qualifications of Teaching and Administrative Staff. Based on the varying structures of programs and staffing patterns within programs, you would look to define if the staff you are describing meets this definition of teacher, not based on the hours that are worked by that staff member. For each staff member added, if an option selected requires documentation, you will need to upload documentation to complete the profile (unless the staff member does not meet any option and you select "no option met").

If you should have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-424-2460 or email at accreditation.information@naeyc.org.

    Thank you,

Yes. We filed it in October. We had to use the online form but then print it and send it with documentation.

We are currently experiencing some technical difficulties with the new Accreditation Portal for Early Learning Programs. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working hard to resolve the issues. You can learn more here: https://www.naeyc.org/early-learning/technical

Join us for this live webinar on Wednesday, January 23 at 2:00 PM EST to help you access the portal and answer program's most common questions. NAEYC staff will also provide next steps on how to manage your own accreditation journey through the Accreditation Portal!  Not able to attend? We will provide the webinar recording by email.
Registration will be posted on our website this week.

@Kristen Johnson -- The link for upcoming webinars on the portal section of the website is broken... Is there any other way to find this information? I tried using the website's search bar, but it took me to a page for educational webinars, as opposed to the technical support ones that we're looking for.

    Thank you!

    Hi Toni,
Sorry about that.  There are several places that you can sign up to learn more.  You can sign up for "Site Visit Fridays"  or for The Accreditation Portal: Your Accreditation Timeline is in Your Hands!

    Hope that helps.
