    Dear Hello Community,

I'm Lark Sontag. I have gotten to know some of you through the year as a contributor on Hello. I have now begun a new role here at NAEYC as the Community Engagement Manager. My job is to support you in making connections--on Hello and through NAEYC's Interest Forums.

I was born in Hollywood, California, but now live in the community of Halcyon Park in Bloomfield, New Jersey.  I have an MA in Early Childhood Education and have been very active in my community both in LA and now in New Jersey.

My favorite children's book is The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes by DuBose Heyward. I love this book, because even though it was written in 1939 it had feminist and anti-racist themes, and it shows that justice and equity truly are traditional values.

I very much look forward to working with all of you this year.

    Welcome Lark!
Such a good book--I remembered it once I saw the cover with the wonderful illustrations by Marjorie Flack.
    Best wishes,
    Peggy
