Hi Patricia, I recently did a webinar on increasing family engagement on
www.geteduca.com. One of the best books I came across for actual practical advice on this topic is a book from 2016 by Julie Powers called "Parent Engagement in Early Learning." There are tons of other good books (Beyond the Bake Sale, Cord of Three Strands, etc), but the book by Powers was by far the most practical of the work I researched on the topic. For example, each chapter deals with a particular archetype of parent, ie. "the parent who doesn't think their child has a learning disability," or "the parent who will not leave," etc.
Hope this helps!

Subject: Tips for Effective Parent Engagement and Involvement
hello, this may have been discussed before. However, I'm looking for up-to-date practical suggestions and resources for enabling effective parent engagement. I have the book 'Families and Educators Together' ๐๐๐. However, I'm also looking for any recommendations on how to deal with issues such as - parents WhatsApp groups; denial if a child has a special need; passive parenting (uninvolved); working parents etc. thanks everyone!
