Hi Lizzie,
I too would recommend looking at the website and perhaps getting your permit before applying as well as looking for job postings to see what specific places are requiring.
I have taught in 3 states and had no problem getting my CA Master Teacher permit and then a Site Supervisor and while not required by current school where I am Director, I think our parents appreciate that all of the teachers are permitted or apply for one within their first year teaching for us.
Best of luck!

Subject: Thinking of Applying for an ECE Director or Asst Director Position
Hi! I have been in the ECE field for 23 years. I was a teacher for different ages for several years, a curriculum coordinator, an Assistant Director a Director for a BankStreet-inspired preschool and kindergarten for 19 years. I'm thinking of moving to the SF Bay Area next year and I was wondering what qualifications I would need to apply for a supervisory position. Is this possible or do I have to start as a teacher again first? Thank you.
