Due to COVID-19, our state has made the decision to have childcare facilities and family childcare apply to stay open to provide care for essential employees. This means that centers and family child facilities that do not apply will have to close their doors for now. The facilities and family childcares that remain open are focused on keeping the children and staff healthy while providing quality care. I develop and administer professional development around our state and want to be mindful of the needs of the early childhood community to best assist them during this difficult time. I know professional development is the furthest thing from their minds right now, but I was wondering what states and administrators are doing to help maintain their staff's professional development plan? Are there new training topics being development or should be developed because of what is happening around our states? Are states looking at more on-line training?
