Hello,
We think that crayons and markers may not be a safety hazard for children. But children often put things in their mouth, and crayons are objects that can be toxic. Crayons contain waxes and color pigments, which are only expected to cause a mild laxative effect if ingested, but if a child breaks it and puts it in their mouth it's considered a choking hazard. With markers it's a little different, it doesn't contain any toxic substances known, but the cap can also be a choking hazard.

Are fat crayons and markers considered a choking hazard for toddlers and twos? Since they stick out of the choke tube, I'm thinking they are not - that they are too long to be loddged in the throat.
