For those with higher ed degrees in unrelated fields (i.e. Bachelors, Masters) who subsequently earned a CDA to further advance their career in early education:
How, if at all,  do you list your credentials? Is it inappropriate to list the CDA in addition to the higher degree? I am curious to hear from other professionals.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Yes! I would definitely list the CDA! I think if you want to put the CDA before the advanced degrees, even though you earned it later, that's an option. I have advanced degrees in related fields and took early childhood courses later and I always include them.

Hi Jacqueline, that's an interesting question. I would think there is nothing wrong listing one's CDA certificate. However, the trend has always been that people go with their highest level first. But as part of your resume it needs to be there because it gives more credibility working in an early childhood center.
