    Has anybody else had issues with not receiving hard copies of their membership certificate and ID card??  I renewed in MARCH - the 1st to be exact - and I STILL have not received my certificate and card in the mail.  And yes, I know the certificate is emailed.  I finally called NAEYC Membership in the middle of June to get them re-sent out.  I was told that the materials would go out in the next mailing on July 1st since I had just missed the June 15th cutoff.  The rep said to call back around July 10th if I had not received my mailing.  Come July 14th - NO CERTIFICATE, NO CARD!!  Called back and requested an expedited mailing since I had already been waiting for 5 months.  I was told that they only mail the membership materials through bulk mail but should be receiving it shortly. 
    I AM STILL WAITING.  What will it take for me to receive this year's membership materials before I have to renew for next year?  Looking for advice and guidance and perhaps some answers from NAEYC leadership.

    My membership started Aug 11. I got a digital membership card August 16. I wondered also if I will receive a hard copy of membership, although it has only been 6 weeks. March is quite awhile ago to be waiting

    I am still waiting for my membership materials also.  I renewed many months ago, and finally had to call.  I was told the same thing that Dawn Chase was told, and still to this date no membership card or ID.  No email sending this either.  I have to renew my CDA this next year and I know they need that info as part of the requirement to renew.  I just received the Oct/Nov 2019 Teaching Young Children Magazine so I really don't understand why getting the membership card is a problem.

    Please look into this problem and reply.

    Hi Marie,
    It's pretty easy to print out the electronic membership card you received via email.  Hope that helps.  It's kinda funny.  It took so long for NAEYC to start doing things electronically - now they're having a little trouble with non electronic.

    IS NAEYC MOVING AWAY FROM A MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION?

    Yes, I have said it out loud.   We are NAEYC accredited school that recently added two new teachers.  We decided that this year, we would take our new teachers to the NAEYC National Conference in November.  Our director went about the task of signing our new teachers up as members and then purchasing the registrations for the conference.

    It took nearly a week for the membership IDs to be sent to these teachers by email.  When our director tried to sign them up for the conference, the online system indicated that the membership numbers were not valid.  So our director called the NAEYC customer service helpline.  She was told it would take weeks for the new membership numbers to "activate".   She could register these teacher by phone, however, only one at a time.  That's right.  She was told she could only make one reservation for the National Conference one teacher at a time, one phone call at a time.  Credit card in hand, she hung up.

    Not be be deterred, our director registered the new teachers for the National Conference by fax.  Welcome to the 21st century!

    In January, when many of us were renewing our memberships we found the online membership site unable to process our transaction.  Again, we had to call the help desk to renew our membership.

    The Membership System is broken.  Broken online.  Broken in marketing support.

    While Affiliates encourage teachers to join NAEYC, they find that the membership online site does not work. When Affiliates ask for marketing materials (brochures, sample magazines), they find months of waiting for materials to arrive.   It is beyond understanding.

    NAEYC seems to be asleep at the wheel.... or perhaps NAEYC has decided it no longer needs Affiliates or memberships.  Perhaps there is a new business model in play?

    What a shame.

    I agree. For last two years I haven’t received ID card. Emailed customer care, didn’t hear anything for weeks. Then got email indicating I’d card ordered. Never got it. Clearly there is a problem in system with renewals.

    I renewed in July, got an email saying the hard copy was on it's way.  It is the end of September and I STILL have not received my hard copy.  I felt trying to renew was difficult this year too.  Quality isn't the same.  :(

    I signed up at conference in DC last November and it took several phone calls and emails and copies of the charge on my card to finally get it resolved although I never did get a membership card.  I do get my magazines.  I gave up on the card.

    Hello All,

    I thought it was just me, or my local mail service...
    I occasionally receive the magazine.  Initially I thought they were 'teasers' to get me to purchase a subscription, then I thought the magazines had moved to exclusively an electronic format as I was not receiving any at all for months at a time, and then I would receive a random copy.  I thought perhaps they came out quarterly, but it seems sometimes more than a quarter would pass in between receiving magazines and then I would sometimes receive 2 copies for the same month.  
    As an individual paying member of NAEYC, what hard copy magazines are we to receive and how frequently?

    The magazines and free books are what I look forward to and use the most in my day to day planning, getting ideas, etc. I don't really care about the card. I would like to not have to remember when the magazines come out and then call to receive them. I'm sure I've missed books and magazines and have no idea...

    The publication schedule for our magazine and journal are below. There are 5 issues of each. Standard level memberships receive one of the following publications and Premium level memberships receive both. If your publication doesn't arrive within its publication month, please contact our customer care team at 1-800-424-2460. Plus, digital versions of all the articles in each publication are available online.

    Feb/Mar

    My apologies.  Customer service reached out to me and I did indeed receive all copies of the "TYC" magazine.
    I had confused that publication with another EC magazine (not NAEYC affiliated) which has sporadic deliver.

    I have been a member for over a year...I have received one magazine issue. I thought maybe I read something wrong about getting the magazine as a member! ☹️ There's supposed to be free books too??? Who do you contact about this? When I needed help for our portfolios I emailed naeyc and three months later I still have not received a response!​

    I renewed my membership in March. Have received nothing. And, I also have the premium membership and have had to call every time a new TYC or YC comes out and customer service sends me a special copy separately because I don't receive them. So, I have to remember when they come out and then call to receive the magazines. And I haven't received any of the member books that come with the premium membership. I call, they answer (sometimes). If I leave a message, I don't receive a call back. Then, they ship it. A lot of hassle for 150.00 a year "premium"  membership.

    This is the second year in a row that I have not received a membership card after renewal.  I saved the e-mails (2 Thank you for renewing and 1 Order confirmation invoice) but that is all I have received from NAEYC thus far.

    Dear Members, 

    We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience not having your membership card has caused.  With NAEYC's current fulfillment house, the turnaround time for mailed membership cards is typically 6 – 8 weeks.  Given this, we provide emailed digital certificates which are sent twice monthly following your join or renewal date.   For the digital certificates, please check your spam or promotional folders to make sure you are receiving emails from @naeyc.org.

    If you would like a PDF of the digital certificate sent to you, please contact our Customer Care Team at MembershipCard@NAEYC.org.  If you need proof of membership for CDA purposes your membership invoice is sufficient.

    We are aware of some members experiencing issues receiving their membership cards and are working diligently with our fulfillment house to find a solution, including an evaluation of this vendor. 

    We understand that as a loyal member, when you join or renew you expect to receive your materials in a timely manner. For those members experiencing issues we know that we have let you down, and for that we are very sorry.

    To specifically address delays with mailed membership cards we have set up a special customer service account, MembershipCard@NAEYC.org. Requests sent to this address will expedited by our team for resolution. In addition, if you have commented on this thread there is no need to contact us at this address as, our Customer Care manager, Donna is reaching out to you directly.

    Hi everybody! 
    • It was refreshing to see that I wasn't the only one encountering problems with the delivery of my membership materials. 
    • NAEYC Membership did reach out to me and told me that they requested an expedited mailing of my materials.  As of today, 16 days later, I still have not received them. I did send an email to the MembershipCard@NAEYC.org address and will see what kind of response I receive.
    • I am curious to see if anybody else has seen a resolution to their issues

    I received an email saying they would resolve the issue, but have received nothing either. I was supposed to be receiving both magazines and 5 books ( over a year) and 20 dollar coupon, but have only received the two magazines sporadically since March when I renewed...

    I also got a response with ID card and promise to mail membership materials which I haven't received.   This is truly a breakdown within the system, perhaps electronic, not sure.   This is not the first year this has happened.    A review of membership renewal is in order.    I do get the magazine I asked for which I really like.

    I still have not received membership materials as well and was told they would be expedited.  My days are full working full-time and managing classroom, children, families, etc...I hope NAEYC figures this out soon.
