  • 1.  5 Rights of Medication Administration Trainings

    Hello all!  I am working to update my employees on the 5 Rights of Medication Administration.  I have found some online trainings through Prosolutions https://www.prosolutionstraining.com/menu/?clearFilter as well as networksllc.net  https://www.networxllc.net/continuing-education  that have trainings but do not specifically describe the Rights in their course descriptions.  We used to have a local pediatrician come in and train the entire team on this but need to resort to online trainings.  
    Does anyone have any great resources they have used to get these completed?

    Please note that the following trainings have been moved to the new online StrongStart Professional Development System:

    Look Before You Lock
    Drivers Transportation Training
    Medication Administration

    These trainings are part of the new mandatory "EEC Essentials" course.  To access the EEC Essentials trainings, please create an account on the StrongStart Professional Development System (PDS).

    Hi Mary, 
    In Texas we have Agrilife Extension where we can access all of our required training. There is a great Administering Medication training on there, I believe it is $12 though and I am not sure if you have to be a resident of Texas to do it. It does cover Texas Child Care Regulation requirements but it does cover the 5 rights well.  
    Another idea is to find a Child Care Health Consultant to do the training.

    Hi Mary! The medication administration courses available through ProSolutions Training do include a section on the 5 Rights of Medication Administration. The description did not directly state that language, but we have since updated our website. Our medication administration courses are based on the best practice guidance issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
