    Dear Early Childhood Teachers,
I just watched this town hall by the NY Caring Campaign and Caring Across Generations with guest speaker Ai-Jen Poo -  It is very inspiring and gives us lots of language to talk about the essential work of child care in relationship to the strength of our communities and the history of the care crisis and how it impacts families.  UNIVERSAL Family care is the idea (and legislation) that there should be one comprehensive social insurance fund that we could all benefit from that can support child care, paid family leave, elder care - everything we need to care for our families across the life span.   It could be the framework for what we can all hope for - a new social contract that values CARE as the strong back bone of our communities.

That was a breathtakingly inspiring town hall. Thank you to every single one of you who joined and participated in making tonight's visionary conversation about Care Work, Economic Recovery & the Green New Deal so special and energizing. You can watch and share the livestream of tonight's town hall with Naomi Klein and Ai-jen Poo at this link.
We talked about what will be possible when, as Ai-Jen described, "we put care at the center of our dreams." So many of you committed to doing just that, to taking action for the universal care and dignified care jobs we need for a sustainable and humane economy. As Naomi reminded us, "There is so much money for militarization and brutalization. But scraps for care. We need care to be a part of our economy where we can afford to be expansive."
