We are trying to make a policy regarding families traveling out of state over the holidays.  When can children return to school?  Do they need to get tested before returning?
    Thank you for your thoughts.

This is a very good question.  I would also like to see what others are thinking.

I own a small family home child care and strictly follow the CDC's recommendations regarding travel and/or visitors from outside of the household. These recommendations have been added to a section in my program's health policy titled COVID-19 Pandemic. I recently sent out an email reminder to my families so that they remember to factor a quarantine period or COVID-19 testing into their holiday plans.

Obviously, Each state has set its own guidelines. With early education I would be as strict as possible; requiring a quarantine period of 14 days (most of the parent's employers have to allow for this, I think) and/or a negative Covid test for all members of the immediate family. Recent research has shown that spikes could be due, in part,  to family gatherings.

Hi. I too, am trying to plan for this as best I can.  Along the same subject...we are in PA, we have a vast list of states that it is recommended we quarentine for 14 days following our return.  What is your policy if a teacher has to travel to one of those states?  Am I allowed (legally) to require them to quarentine, missing work unpaid for 14 days?  Again it is only recommended by the state not required which I am wondering if I can implement that policy legally.  Thank you .
