  • 1.  Question about Book- Letting The Outside In by Duncan/Martin

    Posted 01-11-2020 08:04 AM
Hello- I am a teacher in The Twos. My outside play area is in a school yard so nothing is growing near by. I was thinking about purchasing Letting The Outside In but am hesitant because of the steep price and I am uncertain if it will have ideas for such young children. I have to be vigilant when we grow seedlings because some Twos have the impulse to pull them out of the soil. This is quite appropriate behavior so we always plant lots of seeds and it is no big deal. If anyone has used this book, I would appreciate a review. I would love a practical guide for very young children. Most of the class will turn 3 in the Spring and Summer. My class is a two hour session either two or three days a week. Thank you, Hello Community. Maureen Cummings

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong book but Amazon has a paperback copy for $3.95. Who is the author?

Thank you, Christina. The book I am referring to is by Sandra Duncan and Jody Martin and I can purchase it for 44 dollars from the Exchange Everyday Newsletter. The book on Amazon is a lovely Children's book. Thank you again. Maureen

    Hello Maureen,

The name of the book is actually titled Bringing the Outside In by Duncan and Martin. You may be able to save the money by watching their webinar "Creating Nature Based Classrooms" from Early Childhood Investigations Webinars. Here is the link: https://www.earlychildhoodwebinars.com/webinars/creating-nature-based-classrooms-breaking-the-aesthetic-code-of-early-childhood-environments-by-sandra-duncan-and-jody-martin/     It is free and there are many other webinars available on their website that will interest many of us.
