    Posted 10-19-2020 08:33 PM
    Saturday, 11/7 from 1 to 2:30 CST (8-9:30am HST, 10-11:30am AKST, 11-12:30 PST, 12:00-1:30 MST, 2-3:30 EST)

The Diversity and Equity Interest Forum and the Tribal and Indigenous Early Childhood Network are pleased to offer a virtual book club centered on the book Lessons from Turtle Island: Native Curriculum in Early Childhood Classrooms by Guy W. Jones and Sally Moomaw.

Facilitation will be provided by Barb Fabre and Tamie Finn (White Earth Ojibwe Nation) of Indigenous Visioning. Our facilitators will help provide insight and resources for teaching both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children about Indigenous cultural norms in an early childhood setting. If you would like to connect with other early childhood educators across the US (Turtle Island) who are interested in tribal and Indigenous issues, then this book club is for you.

*Back by popular demand! Barb and Tamie plan to expand the conversation from our first gathering in August, and, first timers are welcome too.*

    Hello,

This sounds very interesting but I am unavailable on November 7th. Will the conversation be recorded? Are there resources you would recommend for teachers who would like to know more about appropriate ways to teach Native American culture?

    Thank you!
