any wisdom for children who are now, mid-year, having a hard time getting quiet and settling in for rest time? They are almost all about to turn three and all of the tried and true strategies are not working.

    Geula:

It's getting warmer and I suggest more active outdoor time, if you don't already go outside a lot.  Tire them out!  Also, if you don't already have  calming rituals before nap--lights out, a quiet story time with a few lullabies (and any song is a lullaby if sung slowly and softly enough), then send each child to their mat in a personal way, with a hug, wave, handclasp, or whatever they prefer. Quiet instrumental music during nap.  Hope you find some things that help them rest.
