    This year the Black Caucus has scheduled both of its major sessions on Sunday.

    Sunday, June 2 at 2 p.m.

    Racial microaggressions: Redressing inequities for Black boys and girls in early childhood education

    In recent years, practitioners have become aware of the role that racial microaggressions have on learning, development, and success of young children. Participants will learn what microaggressions are and how they serve as a barrier to academic success for Black children. ECE counter-narratives will amplify strategies and practices that parents, teachers, and community advocates can use to reduce the prevalence of microaggressions.

    How Higher Education is an Obstacle Course for People of Color: A Panel Discussion

    An equitable higher education system is a cornerstone for the further professionalization of the field. There is work to be done to create such a system. After hearing from a vibrant, thoughtful panel, participants will consider strategies to overcome the obstacles.
