¡Hola/Hello! from your new Affiliate Relations Coordinator

    Dear all,

I would like to take this space to introduce myself: my name is Sandra Del Río and I'm the new Affiliate Relations Coordinator at NAEYC!

A little about me: I was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where most of my family still resides. I have earned a Master's degree in Science Education from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras. Even though I'm an environmental scientist by training, I discovered my passion for pedagogy through environmental education while I was an undergraduate student. This inclined me to pursue a graduate degree in the field of education, particularly to understand how people learn science.

I love plants and gardening and I'm very interested in sustainable, urban agriculture. I also enjoy all sorts of handicrafts such as origami and sewing. In my down-time, you will likely find me hiking, enjoying nature, or volunteering at the U.S. Botanic Garden's Public Programs.

I look forward to interacting with all of you and assisting in any way possible! You can reach me at sdelrio@naeyc.org and/or extension 8821.

    Best,
    - Sandra

    Saludos,

    Atentamente,
    - Sandra
