    Hello
any ideas for hands on activities to send home to my toddlers. Also any ideas for file folder games. I created a ice cream cone color match game. Also far I have had a good turnout for my kids. I had one miss last week due to having to go into work. I was able to meet with the parent and go over their conference. Hoping they do still come for their virtual class it gives the children an opportunity to see us.

    Hi Joy,

I assume that the parents are participating with the children. If so, I wonder if they would be willing to do some open-ended process art? Simple collage art, fingerpaint, playdough, etc. It is easy to distribute materials for these activities, allows the children to engage in sensory play experiences outside of school, and encourages fine-motor development.

You could also send home recipes for very simple cooking projects (with only a few ingredients) ahead of time and make them with the children during one your online sessions. Or perhaps familes could go on "nature scavenger hunt" outside and each child could share an item that they found on their walk.

When we implemented virtual learning earlier this year, we included a lot of music, such as fingerplays, full-body movement, and rhythm stick songs (the children could use sticks from outside or wooden spoons from their kitchen). And we read stories several times throughout the day during various online sessions.

One of our children is still participating with us online, due to health issues. We take materials to him on a rotation, with a list of things that the family can keep, as well as the items that we request they return during our next drop-off time. If that would be an option for you, you could send home items such as puzzles and manipulatives.

I hope that you are able to find some engaging online learning experience for your little friends.

    Wishing you well,

Its wonderful you are doing a virtual class with your students and its great that they all have attended. So, ideas for virtual I thought if you have done some yoga with them? A little bit of a physical activity together might be fun for them. Just a suggestion.

Hello, Joy!  What would you think about sending the words, tune, and hand gestures to many fingerplays and you could send some props (even just paper copies) for parents.  If you don't have any, I might be able to rummage through my files and come up with some for you (I could email them).

If you can that would be fantastic. I made one with ice cream cones and color matching tops. My co worker also made a owl color matching. Then a shape matching. I made snowmen for our felt board for our zooms. I am planning on sending some home for them on popsicle sticks. Also monkeys for swinging in a tree and jumping on the bed.
