Collaborating with Maine PreK and K teachers, we have been using SeeSaw to communicate/partner with families. It is free, and easy to share photos, video, drawings and family members can reply to children's work with text or audio comments. You can easily create folders for each child and sub-folders for different topics, and there is also translation support. Families have been very happy -much more possible to see and understand what is happening in the classroom, and to get involved.
There are lots of ways to use technology tools to support early learning goals. NAEYC has a Technology and Young Children Interest Forum members can sign up for and has links to recommended websites, as NAEYC has a position statement you can find on this page
Technology and Young Children | National Association for the Education of Young Children | NAEYC which also lists resources.
Over the years, have been exploring ways to use tech with young children that are beneficial and have co-authored articles sharing some of our lessons learned for NAEYC's TYC magazine, such as
Touch and Grow: Learning and Exploring Using Tablets and
Preschoolers Take Tech Outdoors .
Thanks for sharing about the different tools for partnering with families, and Ciera, for starting the conversation:^)

I was wondering what child care centers use technology wise? Does anyone use tablets for communication with parents? Is there a special app or other websites that can be used? If you do use technology how do teachers or parents like it?
