Visual learning

I know that children need visual supports in order to be successful (e.g. showing pictures of the book when reading, using visual schedules, etc). Does anyone know of a scholarly article that illustrates this? I've had no luck finding one so far. Thanks!

    Hi Amy,

I don't know if you found the articles that you were searching for, as you posted 2 days ago.  However, I did find this article written by Bonnie Blagojevic, Mary Ellin Logue, V. Susan Bennett-Armistead, Billie Taylor, and Erika Neal in Teaching Young Children entitled, Take a Look Visual Supports for Learning.  I have attached it to the bottom of these comments.

I also searched the lead authors name from the article and found this website:  https://ccids.umaine.edu/resources/visual-supports/.
It is the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies at the University of Maine.

One thing I always do when trying to find information of topics I am looking for is review the reference list of articles/journals to which I have access.  Usually as I go through the lists, I come across other articles/quality sources to review.

    I hope this helps!
