Summer is ending and it's time to think about connecting with colleagues and strengthening our practice.
So....  The Diversity and Equity Interest Forum and the Tribal and Indigenous Early Childhood Network are pleased to offer a virtual book club centered on the book "Lessons from Turtle Island: Native Curriculum in Early Childhood Classrooms"

Facilitation will be provided by Barb Fabre and Tamie Finn (White Earth Ojibwe Nation) of Indigenous Visioning.

Our facilitators will help provide insight and resources for teaching both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children about Indigenous cultural norms in an early childhood setting setting. If you would like to connect with other early childhood educators from all over the US who are interested in tribal and Indigenous issues, then this book club is for you.

Join us on Thursday, August 27 from 5:30 to 7 CST (1:30-3 HST, 2:30 -4 AKDT, 3:30-5:00 PST, 4:30-6:00 MST, 6:30-8:00 EST) for a lively book discussion.

Sign up here to receive the zoom link for the book club.

This is a great book that I have used for many years with my students on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation (South Dakota). I am looking forward to the book discussion.

I can't make the time of the discussion, but I'm really looking forward to reading this book and would love to start up a thread about it on HELLO with anyone else who's reading it!
