    Hello, EC Community!

I understand we all hail from different states and jurisdictions, rules, and regulations. That being said, does anyone have guidance on home visiting? Iowa is currently "on hold" until Sept. 30th to see IF home visits can resume and in what capacity/function. Some folks are at a loss as to why socially distanced, held outside, mitigated with masks, held in public settings to reduce germs, etc. home visits cannot be held.

While teachers and students head back to classrooms, programs like Parents As Teachers (PAT) are wondering why their home visit cannot be reinstated.

I'm seeking information from anyone who has guidance on how they have begun meeting again with parents/families in whatever setting/capacity.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Brian,
You make some good points about how the pandemic has changed home visits.  I would say that people are staying home and don't want others coming in to their private space, they are safe there.
Children should be helped remotely for now until there's more to stop the spread.
Part of my usual home visit is to help the family have what they need to do school work at home.
This is the first thing I would address.
Anyway hope the Children stay safe.
    Thanks
    Melanie

Good Morning Brian, For the Centerbase center, we deliver packets on Monday to the families, door to door, We will add lessons through Chromebooks beginning next week. Yes, we all have masks on when we meet and sanitize immediately after each visit. The families are happy to see us and the children are excited to be back "in school", even though it is done at home.
